Launch MS Word 2007.
Click on the Insert tab.
Click on the Equation button. An Equation toolbar appears.
Click on the Fraction button. A drop down menu appears.
Click on the Stacked Fraction button. A fraction equation appears in your document.
Click in the numerator text box and type the number you want.
Click in the denominator text box and type in the number you want.
Use the arrow keys to move the cursor to the left of the fraction to enter a whole number for a mixed fraction. Click somewhere off of the equation when you are done. Do not press the enter key or you will be given another text box to enter a number. Note: When you are ready to begin typing text, it may be necessary to click on the Normal button under the Home tab.
